story
Pianist, choir conductor, music teacher, and music director, Ekaterina Alferova is an accomplished and passionate artist whose international career reflects a profound devotion to music in all its forms.
Trained at the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where she earned a degree in choral and orchestral conducting, Ekaterina has pursued a rich and diverse artistic career for more than ten years between Europe and Canada. Her talent as a collaborative pianist has led her to work with numerous choirs, soloists, musical institutions, and private events across Europe and North America.
Now based in Montreal, she is a collaborative pianist for renowned schools (F.A.C.E.), and periodically sought after by children’s and adult choirs (Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval, Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, Continuo). She performs as well in high-level events (weddings, private concerts, gala evenings).
Ekaterina is also a choir conductor and music director, notably for Productions Vives Voix, the Théâtre Musical de Laval, and the Kinor choir. She conducts with sensitivity and precision, supported by strong technical expertise and a human, pedagogical approach that resonates with the choristers, singers, and musicians she works with.
A dedicated teacher, she has taught choral singing, piano, and musical theater in various conservatories and cultural centers in Europe and Quebec. She also leads singing workshops and mentors young talents in their artistic development.
Versatile, rigorous, warm, and creative, Ekaterina has a rare ability to bridge musical excellence, artistic expression, and transmission. She is also strongly committed to volunteer work, particularly through solidarity projects such as those carried out with the Ligue contre le cancer in France.
Ekaterina is fluent in Russian and French, and also has professional proficiency in English, which allows her to collaborate with ease in multicultural contexts.
